[Change of Pianist] XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition Winners’ Gala Concert in Tokyo

We regret to inform you that the 1st Prize winner of the piano division, Alexandre Kantorow, who had been announced to appear in the “XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition Winners’ Gala Concert,” will not be able to participate in the Japan tour due to his circumstances. In the concert in Tokyo, the 2nd Prize winner, Dmitry Shishkin, will appear instead. In line with this change, part of the program and the performance order will be changed as shown below.
Your understanding will be appreciated.

[Biography]
Dmitry Shishkin (Russia), Second Prize and Silver Medal

Has played the piano since the age of two. From the age of four he attended the Tchaikovsky Music School in Chelyabinsk. Aged nine he entered the Moscow Gnessin Middle Special School of Music (class of Mikhail Khokhlov). He later graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory (class of Professor Eliso Virsaladze). Currently he is studying with Epifanio Comis at the Vincenzo Bellini State Conservatory in Catania.n 2013 he won the 3rd prize at the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano (Italy). Prize-winner at the Queen Elizabeth Competition (Belgium, 2016). 1st prize winner of the 2018 Geneva Piano Competition.
