【Notice of Conductor Change】St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra
Due to health reasons, Yuri Temirkanov will be unable to participate in the Japan tour.
In place of Maestro Temirkanov, the concerts on the Japan tour will be conducted by Maestro Nikolay Alexeev, who has been Deputy Artistic Director of the Philharmonia since 2000.
Please note that there will be no refund as a result of this casting change for those who have purchased tickets for the concerts on November 12 and 13. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Our dear friends in Japan,
Due to health reasons, Artistic Director & Principal Conductor Yuri Temirkanov will be unable to participate in the Japan tour.
In place of Maestro Temirkanov, the concerts on the Japan tour will be conducted by Maestro Nikolay Alexeev, who is Deputy Artistic Director of the Philharmonia since 2000.
The performances of outstanding works conducted by Nikolay Alexeev, in whom Maestro Temirkanov places complete trust, are sure to be superb. We hope you will look forward to the concerts.
Maestro Temirkanov, who has a great love and respect for the people of Japan and had been looking forward to the performances, deeply regrets that he will be unable to come to Japan for this tour.
We would like to express our heartfelt wishes for Maestro Temirkanov’s speedy recovery, and we sincerely hope that he will be able to perform before audiences in Japan again soon.
