May Nagahisa Selected for 30 UNDER 30 JAPAN 2020!

Mariinsky Ballet soloist May Nagahisa has been selected for 30 UNDER 30 JAPAN 2020—young people in various fields with remarkable talent and future potential.
They are selected by the editorial department of Forbes JAPAN as front runners in diverse fields of endeavor.

May Nagahisa is currently back at the Mariinsky Theatre, and is set to perform in numerous productions in October.
A Mariinsky Ballet Japan tour is also being planned for November 2021.

[May Nagahisa – Biography]

Born in Hyogo Prefecture. At age 13, May went to study at the Princess Grace Academy in Monaco. While a student, she was discovered and invited to perform on the Mariinsky Theatre stage. She joined the company after graduation, and became Second Soloist at the age of 18.
May has performed lead roles in “The Nutcracker” and “Romeo and Juliet,” as well as roles such as Princess Florine in “The Sleeping Beauty,” Prince’s Friend in “Swan Lake,” and Amour in “Don Quixote.” She has gained much attention as a young ballerina of the Mariinsky Ballet.
