Daishin Kashimoto premiered　HOSOKAWA’S《Prayer》in Japan

“Prayer” for violin and orchestra, dedicated work to Daishin Kashimoto by the composer Toshio Hosokawa, was Japan premiered at Suntory Hall on July 27, 2023.

Following the world premiere by the Berlin Philharmonic under the baton of Paavo Järvi in March and the Swiss premiere by the Luzern Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Michael Sanderling in June; Sebastian Weigle and Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra performed the Japan premier.
From serenity to a hard-fought struggle, then to purification – the violin prayed and sang. Daishin Kashimoto’s performance with intense concentration was overwhelming.

Kashimoto will also perform the Japan premiere of Hosokawa’s “Texture for Octet“ on the Japan tour of the Philharmonic Octet Berlin in November.
