Announcement of management contract with Toru Kaku, Baritone

We are pleased to announce that Japan Arts has undertaken the management of Toru Kaku:Baritone.

Toru Kaku has a wide-ranging repertoire in art songs spanning numerous languages and eras, including German lieder and British and Russian songs, and has garnered praise for the extremely high level of his interpretations. He has also given many fine performances of religious music in concerts with Bach Collegium Japan.

Kaku has also given outstanding performances in the field of opera, creating a vivid impression and captivating audiences in a wide variety of roles. These include the title role in Don Giovanni, Enrico in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Dr. Schön in Lulu, Tsurukawa in Toshiro Mayuzumi’s Kinkakuji, and Number One in Henze’s The Betrayed Sea.

In addition, Kaku has been actively engaged in education, serving in posts including part-time lecturer at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music and choir music director.
