Tomoharu Ushida / The 51st Chopin Society of Japan Award

We are pleased to announce that pianist Tomoharu Ushida has been awarded the 51st Chopin Society of Japan Award.

This prize was established by the Chopin Society of Japan and is awarded annually to the most outstanding performer from concerts held in Japan that include Chopin programs.
The selection was made based on approximately 671 concerts featuring Chopin’s works held in Japan during the year 2024. The Japan Arts Afternoon Concert Series held on October 22, 2024 at the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall was selected as the concert that suited the purpose and objectives of the prize, and the award was presented to Tomoharu Ushida for his performance of Chopin’s Piano Concertos No. 1 and No. 2 (arranged by Kevin Kenner & Krzysztof Dombek), and as an encouragement to the activities of the Contrasts.
